We are AB Dating Services Limited, trading as A-ledD, registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, Greater London, WC2H 9JQ.

 

Your privacy is protected by law, and it is also protected by our data security and protection policies. This page gives you an idea of how we use your data and the safeguards we put in place to protect it.

 

You can contact our voluntarily appointed Data Protection Officer at DPO@a-ledd.com if you have any concerns or wish to exercise your rights.

If you are an EU Data Subject, you can contact our EU Representative at eurep@fifthsquare.eu. Our EU Representative complies with our obligations under GDPR Article 27 and is established in the Republic of Ireland. Please note that our EU Representative is a Third Party. They will process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Notice. 

 

Our Promises:

 

To help you on your journey with us, we need data about you.  We make the following promises about how we will treat this data:

 

  • We will only collect data about you that is relevant and necessary;

  • Your data will only be held on systems that meet compliance standards;

  • Your data will only be accessed by those who need it, and we will minimise the amount of data that is processed, wherever possible;

  • We will only share data with third parties that meet our own privacy standards unless either you have agreed to share data, we are required to share it by law, or we need to fulfil our service commitments to you through a fulfilment partner;

  • We will always remember that it is your personal data, not ours. As such, we will ensure complete transparency and openness with you wherever possible. 

  • We respect your rights as outlined in the next section and will respond to all requests promptly

 

Your Rights:

 

You have the certain rights over any data we hold about you:

 

  • Request a copy of personal information we hold about you.

  • Ask that we update the personal information we hold about you or correct such personal information that you think is incorrect or incomplete.

  • Ask that we delete personal information that we hold about you or restrict the way in which we use such personal information.

  • Object to our processing of your personal information; and/or

  • Withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information (to the extent such processing is based on consent and consent is the only permissible basis for processing).

If you are in any way dissatisfied with our response, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority. This can be done at https://ico.org.uk/concerns/ or when in the EEA, your countries’ Data Protection Authority.

 

Collecting Data:

 

When you sign up to our service, we ask for certain information about you so that we can show you potential partners. The information you provide is based on your consent, especially for sensitive information, known as “special categories of data”. We do not collect data about you from other sources.  Typically, personal data elements we collect as part of your profile building and using the app may include:

 

  • Name

  • Screen name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Physical address for billing purposes

  • Payment information such as processing debit and credit card information via a 3rd party billing partner

  • Confirmation that the user is over 18 years of age via a 3rd party facial age estimation checker in the form of a facial image

  • Geolocation including Country, U.S. state (if applicable) and nearest Town/City

  • Gender

  • Age

  • Leader, Follower, or Neutral.

  • Height

  • Racial or ethnic origin

  • Sexual orientation

  • Education level

  • Exercise habits

  • Drinking habits

  • Smoking habits

  • Religion

  • Political beliefs

  • Whether you have children

  • If you would like children

  • Whether you have pets

  • What type of encounter / relationship you are seeking

  • Chat messages that you generate on the platform

  • Photos and other content that you may uploads onto the platform

  • Search parameters which may include geolocation, gender, age, height, education level, exercise habits, drinking habits, smoking habits, religion, political beliefs, whether the user has children, if the user would like children, whether the user has pets, what type of encounter / relationship the user is seeking

  • Communications that you may have with us – for example with our helpdesk

  • Confirmation that you are over 18 years of age

  • IP Address

Our website and other materials sent to you may contain links to other third-party websites. We may also offer buttons to social media that link to third party services. We’re not responsible for the content or the data privacy these sites provide through their tools or sites.

 

Why we process your Data:

 

The primary legal basis that we process your data is for the fulfilment of Contract. The information that we collect is essential for us is to be able to deliver the service that will hopefully deliver that perfect potential partner for you. We also ask you to opt into marketing when you sign up with us.

 

Data gained from marketing our services or other business activities can also be processed for our Legitimate Interests in certain circumstances.

 

How we use your personal data:

 

We process information about you to provide you with the services.  This includes:

 

  • To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.

  • To respond to user inquiries/offer support to users. We may process your information to respond to your inquiries and solve any potential issues you might have with the requested service.

  • To send administrative information to you. We may process your information to send you details about our products and services, changes to our terms and policies, and other similar information.

  • To save or protect an individual's vital interest. We may process your information when necessary to save or protect an individual’s vital interest, such as to prevent harm.

  • Contact users for marketing purposes. Use personal information collected via the sign-up process on the landing page to contact users regarding the launch of the application, website, and in-person dating events. Every email sent from us allows you to opt out of receiving marketing emails from us, except for the purposes of fulfilling any contractual arrangements.

 

Calls may be recorded for information holding, quality and training purposes. Our email, document management and website analytics are used for information purposes.

 

All our processes are mapped and are subject to various internal policies, procedures and governance, ensuring your data privacy and security remains central to all we do.

 

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognising or honouring DNT signals, we do not respond to them currently.

 

Processing your Data:

 

Data is processed/stored on encrypted third party hosted cloud services such as AWS and delivery partners such as Adobe Analytics, Brevo (formerly SendInBlue), Wix, and Zoho. In addition, we may use Large Language Models (LLM) to help us in delivering our service. A full list of our systems can be provided on request.

 

Data will be processed in either the UK, EEA/EU data centres or on US based servers that have demonstrated strong data security safeguards. We may also process your data in countries outside the UK or European Union from time to time in other aspects of our business.

 

Further to Section 119A of the Data Protection Act 2018 and noting Case C-311/18 in the European Court of Justice, if your data is transferred or processed outside of the UK or EEA, we ensure the safeguards of International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) or Addendums are enforced. Where this is not possible, we ensure that European Standard Contractual Clauses are entered.

 

We regularly review suppliers for data security compliance to ensure your data is safe and track where your data is held.

 

Sharing your Data:

 

We will not sell your data, nor will we share your information with third party organisations except as part of providing the service to you and/or when legally obliged to. It is our policy to use only third-party providers that are bound to maintain appropriate levels of security and confidentiality, to process your personal information only as instructed by us, and to flow those same obligations down to their sub-processors. 

 

We may also disclose your personal information to law enforcement, regulatory and other government agencies, and to professional bodies and other third parties, as required by and/or in accordance with applicable law or regulation including but not limited to prevent fraud or minimise credit risk.

 

Our website, app and other materials may contain links to other third-party websites. We’re not responsible for the content or your data privacy on these sites.

 

Retaining your Data:

 

Dependant on the data you provide us and for what purpose it is provided, we may need to retain your data during your use of our services and following the end of engagement. Typically, we will remove your personal information if you are no longer using, subscribing or engaged with us, after 1 year following the last engagement. We will need to retain billing information for a period of 7 years.

Legal Compliance:

 

We seek to uphold our legal obligations as covered in the UK with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016. Our Data Protection Authority is designated as the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and you agree that any dispute will be undertaken by the courts of England and Wales. Due to our international presence, we do not warrant compliance with state, federal or country laws. However, we will always uphold your rights to the extent possible.
